Why I’ll never be a hardcore raider

Filed under: World of Warcraft — Andrew.Rowbottom @ 1:30 pm

Monday post, oncology raiding tonight (trains willing).

Lets face it you probably know why I’ll never be a hardcore raider already, medicine but it’s Monday and I’ve not written up my thoughts on the weekend happenings so you’re getting a pre-prepared piece. Think for a moment of British Rail sandwiches, that should put you in the right mood.

#0 Weekdays are difficult I get up at 6am and do the horses, then I go to work, then I do the horses again, sometimes I even ride. I can’t really put in more than one midnight stint a week or work suffers, and that is what funds the horses.
#1 I’ve got other interests. When the call comes to ride the horsie, you can bet your life I’m gonna be out there doing the business, not inside playing on the computer.

And finally for those of you who haven’t been paying attention, here are the rest of the reasons:

#2 Poor situational awareness – I can only do one thing at a time, and that’s look at the health bars!
#3 Slow reaction times – I was never fast, but I’m not as young as I was and that takes it’s toll.
#4 Bad attitude – I really do think it’s “Only a game”, despite swearing profusely at PuG wipes.
#5 Sulking – a popular pastime of mine, and one I doubt any serious raiding corps would put up with.

Fortunately my guild are seriously cool and my group raids Mon or Tue one week and Weds/Thurs/Fri the next making 1 day a week! Yipee!

The fact that I’m still raiding just goes to show how even more uber cool they are to let me come despite #2,#3,#4 and #5!
