I find the fights in Naxx quite enjoyable and I would guess they are a challenge for those who did not get raiding practise in TBC. From a gearing point of view it is more of a waste of time though. There is nothing wrong with Naxx-gear, it is just as you say; there are too many easy-to-get alternatives. Just visiting the AH as a prot warrior I can slot up wrists, head, shoulders, feet, back, both fingers, neck and shield with gear that is side or even upgrades to what I find in 10-man Naxx.

Couple that with emblem-rewards (heroics tend to take half the time they did in TBC) + reputation rewards (zero effort in comparison to TBC) and you are 10-man end-geared without setting your foot in Naxx.

Conclusion: if you want to gear quickly, start farming gold and the shorter heroics. 10-man raiding is a waste of time, just like buying a lottery ticket is a waste of money...
