Shaman Rock

Filed under: World of Warcraft — Andrew.Rowbottom @ 12:58 pm

I was looking through the top ranked Patchwerk 10 fights on WWS and I think I see something:-

ALL the top 25 took at least one shaman and one paladin, read more and most of them took a Druid (2 didn’t)

26-50: all took a shaman, 5 didn’t take any paladins.

you have to go to the 234th ranked fight before you find a group without a Shaman!

Shaman are clearly the bizz! (Though I doubt that many took a Resto)

Auto Screenie

I’ve recently installed an addon called Multishot, decease it’s pretty quiet but it takes a screen snapshot everytime you down a boss, advice level, this get an Achievement (and probably other things too).

It makes for a nice record of what you’ve done, and also shows how crappy your UI is (in my case) so for example I’ve got a shot of:

And some gloriously messy shots of my UI in action… Information OVERLOAD!wowscrnshot_040209_210536

Though, to be honest my favourite screenie has to be:

Which Multishot would never have picked up.

A better, faster, smarter Naxx

A Smyth says , order last night’s naxx went well.

Not a perfect run by any means, stuff but by golly it was pretty good. I was worried it was going to be a “we made it” sort of run when we were over half an hour late starting, but I really needn’t have worried.

Strangely, for me, it wasn’t the cleanliness of boss kills (OK not wiping is nice), that made this a different session. It was the attitude and speed. Whenever a boss went down, we all collected our tokens and checked the loot, if the loot wasn’t suitable we all moved into place ready for the next set of trash. And then we pretty much chain pulled them, keeping the excitement up.

One reason we could keep the pressure up was because we didn’t have any “Naxx Virgins”, so there was very little explanation needed on the boss fights. I’ve got no issues with players who haven’t seen the fights, it’s a failing we’re all guilty of at some point. And I’m happy to raid with a bunch of virgins (not noobs or scrubs ‘cos some of these virgins are way better than me). But sometimes it’s nice to just go and kick some arse without needing a diagram.

After we had finished with Thaddius (our only wipe), we held a vote on whether to go on to the frostwyrm lair. I voted no, partly because it was simply getting late and partly because I was getting tired and thought I’d make some stupid mistakes in what I find a particularly intensive fight. It would have been fantastic to have downed Sapphiron as well, but he’ll still be there on Monday.

If Sapphiron and Kel’Thuzad go are clean kills ….. well we shall see….. I’ll be talking quietly and carrying a big stick.

On the Healy meters: 2nd Equal at around 25%, 15% behind top place. There’s just no way I can come close to healing as much as our Drood! It’s not gear anymore. It’s sheer awsomeness.

On strats: I feel we’ve not quite got the strategy for Gluth the doggie quite sorted out, though I can’t put my finger on what we should do better either.
