Neither a borrower nor a lender be.

Filed under: World of Warcraft — Andrew.Rowbottom @ 6:12 pm

Valithera Dreamwalker run last night. As one of the healers that didn’t go into the portals I knew this could be a mana intensive fight. So mana flask and mana food time.

It wasn’t too bad, global burden of disease but I was still low-to-out on mana just before we wiped :).

I’ve got just over 60 Frosties stored up that I’m still unsure of spending, food but one of the nice NPC’s in ICC sells [Purified Lunar Dust], and what’s more he lets you take it on approval as long as you return it unopened. The great thing about trinkets is that you don’t need to enchant or gem them, so you don’t have to take them out of their blisterwrap!

To good a deal to miss!

So I “borrowed” it for the night and returned it before everything turned into a pumpkin.  And I still have 60 frosties in my pocket!

Lovely run with my munq’s last night.

Started with me hanging my headphones (new headphones) around my neck while the pre-run vent playing around was going on. I’ve gotten used to it now, viagra just leave the headphones off until the run starts… after that everything calms down a bit, ask the fun doesn’t stop though.

We did have a little trouble on Rotface, this nothing like the 2 hours of attempts from previous runs. We did try a different strategy for a bit, which we didn’t get to work (37%). Though we only gave it a couple of goes, unlike the hours of practicing that we’ve done on the “standard” approach. Anyway, so Rotface went down in a reasonable number of attempts, not yet a “farm” job, but also not a the end-of run wipefest to be feared.

Tip: want to know where the offtank is kiting the big ooze? Look at your minimap – he’s the pally running around on his own. Also take time while casting slow spells to look at your screen, you might even see him (or probably the big ooze) way way over there running his little leggies off.

The weekly ICC raid quest was the one where you have to put down festergut and rotface within half an hour of each other without wiping. We did a cheat to complete the quest and grab our frosties. Then we went back and did it the way it’s supposed to be done! So I don’t feel bad about cheating.

Memorable moments….

Our uber dwarf warrior being described by a tall slim shaman as a “pile of armour with some feet sticking out the bottom.
I looked and, you know, she has a point. He can’t see over the handles of his motorbike either!

When we were trying to trip the traps for the huge Bone thingy trash before Marrowgar “I’ve got it!“, followed immediately by an instant death.

The raid leader testing our knowledge of Clockwise and anticlockwise running in the opposite direction to everyone. He says he was just testing us, but how can we be sure?

After the “cheat” is explained where you put only 1 tank and a healer in the room with Rotface while everyone else stands outside. And seeing that all 3 healers are in the room and up for it but everyone else has run away. Does this say something about the mentality behind healers? I wonder.

I had a disconnect really early on Deathbringer Saurfang leaving us with our pally healer and a shaman off healing in their DPS gear. Amazingly we still managed! Trés cool.

But what it showed me was that I’m useless without my Vuhdo raid frames, I need to rework things to at least be able to mouseover heal on the raid frames if I have to!

Off to study some strategies now – Dreamwalker and Putricide!

Hey! That’s my pet!

Here’s Flowersz giving our other Resto Shammy a stern look for trying to steal my cub!

tadalafil that’s my windrider” src=”” alt=”” width=”545″ height=”490″ />

She doesn’t usually show this much side-boob, preferring to wear her level 1 scout’s shirt.

And here’s a better shot of the cub, isn’t he fierce!

Exeunt Festergut

Filed under: World of Warcraft — Andrew.Rowbottom @ 11:46 am

Last night the Munquis went into ICC for day 2 and well it went. We downed Festergut and Rotface.

This is only the second time I’ve ever downed Rotface, glaucoma and for many there this was the first time. So, yeah, we’re behind the curve, but we’re havin fun!

It took 8 attempts but we managed it with most of the raid dirt-napping after the soft enrage timer started to hurt. I seriously thought it was all up at about 5%, but some seriouly hard-core face pounding by the remaining tanks and a warlock put him to rest. I’m sure I heard the dwarf mutter something rude before he gave Festy a Glaswegian Kiss.

Vent was quite noisy for a little while, and I fear I woke up my better half.

Screenies were had, and I pulled out my new (birthday) pet – the windrider cub ‘specially so he could pose for a bit.

It’s been a busy bank holiday

Filed under: World of Warcraft — Andrew.Rowbottom @ 12:22 pm

yeah, dermatologist May bank holiday, epilepsy always busy with the horsies. This year was no different, infection so the first bit of WoW I did was Monday night.

I was on standby for the guild 10 man ICC run so I had to wait until 20:00 (server time) to see if I was going. Meanwhile I got a whisper to see if I could join another 10man. But I put them off until I was sure I wasn’t needed in guild and so missed that slot. Queued up for a 25 man so as not to lock myself out if the Munq’s needed me for a followup tonight.

Honestly, pugging 25 man ICC is such a pain! It takes forever to get a group together and then it’s all, “brb in 10 minutes”, “my lag is bad”, “sorry for the d/c my router is playing up” and then the raft of leavers after each boss!

Not to mention the bloody drama when the RL did a raid-roll on the two BoE trash drops (plate and mail). Is it so hard to figure out that since the items are BoE they’re just 4k gold drops – if the class that can make best use wants them they can simply go to the AH and buy the damn things. At least the [item]Leggings of Dubious Charms[/items] was only suitable for me (the other shaman already had them) so that didn’t cause quite as much grief. The racket when the plate item went to a mage though! I thought we were going to lose another couple of raiders to apoplexy.

Or maybe I’m wrong. It just seemed obvious to me.

Only 15 frosties from my 4th piece of T10 and then I’m stopping that grind. I’ll be running guildies through gear-up dungeons for lolz after that.
