Facilities

Toilets, refreshments, water, trade stands, first aid and a farrier are available. The route will be stewarded by the TRF and REVCOMM. There are no gates on the ride and minimal roadwork. The route follows forest tracks and bridleways. The route also follows ancient forest tracks that linked the religious centres of Newstead, Rufford and Southwell Minster. There is no detailed talk round for this route.

 

Directions to venue

North and southbound M1: Leave at J27 Follow A608 towards Mansfield and A611. Turn left at traffic lights onto A611. Follow through Annesley and out into open country. At traffic lights turn right onto B6020 towards Ravenshead/Blidworth and Newstead Abbey. Follow to traffic lights at the Larch Farm public house and turn right onto A60 towards Nottingham. After approx one mile turn left onto Longdale Lane towards Oxton. Follow for approx 2 miles. Venue signposted on left – please do not enter by the Main drive to the house but by the Events access (signposted).

Horse exercising is available in the forest, access to which is via the route so will be closed Saturday and Sunday for Health and Safety reasons. Lunging may be done sensibly in the venue field
