Facilities

Toilets, refreshments, water, trade stands, first aid and a farrier are available. The route will be stewarded by the TRF and REVCOMM. There are no gates on the ride and minimal roadwork. The route follows forest tracks and bridleways. The route also follows ancient routeways through the Royal estates that make up the Dukeries, Thoresby, Clumber and Welbeck. There is no detailed talk round for this route.

Directions to venue

From M1 Southbound – J30. Follow A616 through Clowne, Cresswell and Cuckney to junction with B6034. At mini roundabout turn left then immediately right on to Thoresby Park road.

From M1 Northbound– As above or J28 and follow A38 to Mansfield then the A60 to Cuckney and the A616. Please note the M1 northbound on Friday afternoon can be a nightmare!

From A1 Southbound – follow A1 to roundabout with A614. Take A614 and follow to right turn signposted Thoresby Park. Follow signs into Park, not the events field.

Stabling, coralling and accommodation

There is coralling and camping available at the venue from Friday (to be confirmed) only (if you need to arrive earlier please contact the Organiser). There will be no facilities before this date. Please pay the secretary on arrival if you have not done so with your entry. The cost is £20 per horse to coral for the duration of the event. Make sure that your coral is electrified at all times, you may be asked to leave the venue if this is not complied with. Camping is free. Please note where tents need to be erected. This is because of Health and Safety. Lorries and caravans can be parked next to corals. (Please see venue plan – if you are in the wrong place you may be asked to move!)

Horse exercising prior to the event.
Horses may be exercised prior to the event. Please see exercise route map at venue. Lunging and schooling may be done in the camping field. Please be sensible at all times.
